Defending Our Future. Protecting Our Past.
Press Release: April 4, 2024 - The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) today released a new report urging the dismantling of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
The report, authored by former U.S. federal prosecutor Henry Kopel, presents extensive open-source information highlighting UNRWA's role as an obstacle to Middle East peace.
The report outlines four key reasons supporting this recommendation, each thoroughly documented:
1. Generational Limbo: Instead of aiding displaced Palestinians from 1948 and helping them rebuild their lives, UNRWA has perpetuated a multigenerational cycle of distress, directing it towards Israel rather than constructive solutions.
2. Incitement in Schools: UNRWA schools have become centers for inciting hatred towards Israel and promoting terrorism among Palestinian youth.
3. Involvement in Terrorism: UNRWA personnel, alumni, and facilities are implicated in supporting terrorist activities against Israelis, including providing recruits and material support to organizations like Hamas.
4. Lack of Action: Despite public evidence of its role in promoting terrorism, UNRWA has failed to take effective measures to address and eradicate these practices.
The report also highlights alleged collaboration between Hamas and UNRWA, raising concerns about UNRWA's complicity in terrorist activities. AGPI's Founder and CEO, Avi Abraham Benlolo, has engaged with UN and UNRWA officials multiple times regarding these issues, yet UNRWA's persistent denial and inaction remain alarming.
AGPI calls upon the Canadian government to reconsider its commitment of $25 million to UNRWA in light of these findings.
BASSAM EID TELLS AGPI GROUP "UNRWA HOLDING PALESTINIANS HOSTAGE":
Palestinian activist, Bassam Eid told a global meeting of The Abraham Global Peace Initiative that relations with the Palestinians has been set at least 50 years back because of the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7th. He believes that Hamas must be destroyed not only for the benefit of Israel, but also for the benefit of the Palestinian people. Eid added that UNRWA must be dismantled, for keeping the Palestinian people hostage so that it can continue earning an income. Watch the full video HERE.
Bassem Eid, a Palestinian activist known for his efforts in exposing human rights violations by the Palestinian Authority and the murder of Palestinian dissidents. Mr. Eid has dedicated 26 years to researching the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) and has extensively documented his findings, contending that UNRWA has perpetuated a hostage-like situation of the Palestinian people. He is a vocal critic of the BDS movement and frequently tours university campuses to counter misinformation about Israel.
